I grew up in California so earthquakes never really bothered me. They are always a surprise and they are over before you can think twice. However, this morning at 4:45 a.m., I had just finished feeding Ansel and was trying to get him to fall asleep again when we had a 4.2 magnitude earthquake centered a few miles away. It sounded like a truck driving over our roof as the room shook for at least 5 seconds. Normally I'd jump and my heart would race and then Jeremy and I would talk about how cool it was and guess the magnitude. This time all I could think about was how thankful I was that Ansel was next to me and safe. It is unfair how in love I am with him because I worry about him so. Our house did not sustain any damage.
Ansel has two new friends already. Scott Robert Woolley was born one week prior to Ansel on May 20 and Sarek Evans Mallareddy was born six weeks after Ansel on July 10. It is really nice for Jeremy and me to have friends sharing the same experiences. We look forward to having the boys grow up together.
Ansel has been finding his thumb more often. It is a great soother when a pacifier or boob aren't available.

It was great to see the updates. I totally felt for you with your bridge story. It totally rips my heart out when Rowan cries in the car because sometimes there is nothing I can do about it. Good to hear you are starting to get out on your own a little. I feel guilty whenever I leave, but it is getting better. 2-3 hours is the most I can stand though.
Oh, and the hotslings are nice! Did you get one yet? I mostly use my Ergo now but sometimes wish for a Moby wrap or Mei Tei. Chris would kill me though if I bought another!
