Ansel took his first bottle of breast milk a few days ago and did not struggle at all. Jeremy expertly fed it to him and Ansel knew what to do. I have since started to stock the freezer to allow me some time to do a few things without Ansel, such as swim and jog. I think it is hardest for me to leave him because of the emotional tie over the biological need to feed him.
For his 6 week birthday Jeremy, Ansel and I went on a hike in Juaquin Miller Park.
Yesterday I took Ansel to Mommy and Me Yoga. He didn't like lying on the mat alone but much preferred the held poses.
Today I got the biggest, mouthiest smile from him. It was very purposeful looking and lasted about 10 seconds. It was the best 10 seconds of my day. Ansel makes lots of vocalizations - while he eats, sleeps or hangs out.
We are going to take him to his first movie tonight. A local theater has Baby Brigade once a week where they allow babies under 1 year of age in to the theater. Who knows how much of the movie we'll get to see but the movie is called Knocked Up so we thought it was an appropriate theme for baby night.
