Healing Sunlight

When Ansel was home sick yesterday the sun came out so we got a little fresh air in front of the house.

So here we are, less than a month 'til Christmas. I love Christmas. I love the lights, the smell of Christmas trees as we walk past the lot at the end of our street, the traditional music, and the hearty winter foods. I don't like the craziness that can surround the holiday, the materialism and greed, the over the top kitsch, or the frenzy. I am hoping to make some family traditions for Ansel around the holiday. I want him to remember Christmas as a holiday of giving in the caring sense, of family, and beauty and not just a day to get gifts.

I hope Ansel is feeling better today, sick kids are no fun.
I too love the holidays. I've tried making some traditions for our family as well, but I'm not sure how well it is going. Athena can't wait to get our tree and she helped me pick out a toy to donate to a family in need (at ther school). I think I will also clean out the kid's room and donate toys too. Athena is at a good age for this now as she is beginning to understand how fortunate she is. good to see you blogging again.
