Sandman Packed Up and Left

Right now it is 1:45 in the morning and we are trying to sleep train Ansel some more. We half did it around 5 months old. Then I would feed him when he woke up which was only once a night and he himself stopped waking up for the most part. After our trip back east two weeks ago, he woke up nightly. Then the last three nights he hasn't roused. So we decided, enough was enough. He can sleep through the night and is too reliant on me to get back to sleep if he does wake. So he woke up at 12:57 tonight, we checked on him, gave him a hug, he cried on and off for 20 minutes, we did it again, and he is still crying on and off. More of a "ma ma ma" whine every 5 minutes. It was making me very sad and I cannot sleep through it so I thought I'd come the warm glow of the computer two rooms away where I can still hear him but it is quieter until it is time for me to comfort him again. I started work again Wednesday and being up right now is not ideal for my brain power tomorrow. Come on A, you can get yourself back to sleep kiddo.
2:00 - he had a poopy diaper, changed it and put him back to bed.
2:15 - he's screaming because "lovey" fell out of the crib. I sat down on the floor and read a few books in the dark to him. He calmed down. It is 2:30 and he is asleep now.
Hope tomorrow night is easier.

Thanks for sharing. I'm a zombie at work lately -- we're trying to "wean" Serena from 5 wakings a night to just 2. Absurd, I know. Part of her challenge now is she can roll from back to front, but then gets stuck, so we have to keep checking on her when she's crying to make sure she's on her back. Next week will be better for both of us, I'm sure.
