Busy house

We've entered the busy time of year. Work has been busy for both Jeremy and I, Ansel is becoming more and more willful, and we have a temporary child care situation for a month. My parents are away so our downstairs neighbor is kindly caring for Ansel. It seems to be a beneficial arrangement for all involved.
I have been referring to Ansel's increasing willfulness but it is full fledged now. He will run away from me and he will cry and whine at the first feeling of frustration. I have been pretty good, depending on my own level of tiredness and whining, about telling him to ask for help.
He loves our neighbor who takes him all over the neighborhood and to the local parks. Sometimes, her 8 year old son will join them for play.

Ansel likes to play with his trucks. He puts smaller trucks inside bigger trucks, he uses one truck to load another truck, he lays on the ground and watches the motions and he will roll them over furniture. He is exploring every aspect of his trucks. He loves tunnels and asks us to build them to push his vehicles through, too.

Ansel is really into his plush toys. He grabs arm fulls at a time.

View from our kitchen. I LOVE wisteria. It smell so good and is here for such a short time each year.

Ansel is enjoying making music, singing and playing music more and more.

I know what you mean. Rowan is in a really fun phase as far as showing some true interests (trucks) but his whining and tantrums can be a bit of a challenge. Now Rowan will say, "Please may I have cookie?" when I have already said no, and it is so hard to say no to that! But then if I do he has a big old tantrum.
I think it is going to be a rough 6 months or so, but I remember it getting easier so hang in there. Sorry you are so busy, but I know summer is just around the corner...
