Ansel and I made it through my first day of work. Before today the longest we'd been apart was one hour. We made it a record 4 1/2 hours today. He did well with grandma and granddad. However, he didn't nap long enough so he slept a lot in the afternoon after I picked him up and he went to bed early. I kept thinking about him while at work but refrained from calling to see how he was doing.
Up until last night, he'd slept about 5 hours in a row for about 6 nights. Last night, I don't know if he sensed my stress or if it was the heat (hot hot hot yesterday), but he was up every 1-2 hours. Let's hope tonight is better.
It was so great to pick him up after work. He feels so good to hold. His hair is sooooo soft and he puts his little arm around my neck.
Even though I'd spent the morning away from him I left him for another hour to swim this evening and Jeremy expertly cared for him. We have been lucky that Ansel has been a great bottle drinker from the start. We introduced it at 1 1/2 months to get him used to it and he took to it fine.

I am so glad you made it through. He sounds like such a great little guy. I love when they put their arm around you like they are hugging already, I still love when Rowan does that and snuggles in, usually when he first wakes up. I think the heat does make them wake up a lot. It has been HOT here for awhile. Rowan sometimes sleeps for 4-5 hours and other nights I get the 1-2, no patterns that I can figure out. I just go with the flow, but that is harder to do with baby #1:)
And good for you for swimming, I have got to get into a routine or something as it is so hard to motivate once chris gets home.
