Oh my. May was such a busy month that I didn't have any time for blogging. There were four birthdays, mother's day, a new nanny, a bridal shower, weekend at the farm and a grandma visit.
First things first. Ansel is well and cuter than ever.
During the first half of the month of May, my parents were unable to take care of Ansel while I worked so we hired a wonderful nanny to come and take care of him. She was great and we all had a good experience. I must say it was difficult and nerve racking leaving him with a stranger for the first time but she quickly calmed my fears when I realized how well she took care of my baby. They went to the park, blew bubbles, slid on the slide. He had a blast. Unfortunately, she is moving away so we won't have an opportunity to call on her again. Over Memorial Day weekend we went to Oz farm in Mendocino with a bunch of friends. We stayed in a rustic cabin, perched on a hill, with its own out house. Ansel slept in the loft and did well in a new environment. His favorite part of the trip was the tricycle on the lawn and playing with the puppy.

Around my birthday in mid-May, we had some really hot days. Ansel learned to say hot (comes out a whispered "Ha") but I haven't heard him say it recently. Because of the weather, we had a beautiful sunset on my birthday. Jeremy bought me a new camera so expect better pictures soon. Ansel was invited to play in our neighbors pool on a hot day. We have signed up for "swim" lessons this month. I can't wait to get in the pool with Ansel.

My baby turned one year old on May 27th. He is such a big boy now. He signs eat and more. He'll touch his nose if you say,"Where's Ansel's nose?" He is pulling up and walking around holding on to things and can stand for a second by himself. He hasn't attempted any steps alone yet. He loves books. Whenever my back is turned and he gets quiet I expect to turn around and see him into something bad. However, about 95% of the time he is quietly flipping through a book. He received many nice books for his birthday and loves them all.

We threw a birthday party for Ansel in our backyard. We had a BBQ, cake, and many people who love Ansel came.
