Summer Light and a Short Staycation

May is always a busy month with birthdays and the end of the school year. And to make it worse, the kids and I took turns being sick over a two week period. Ansel had it the worst with 5 days of fever. We all seem to be healthy now.
School was out a week ago and I had 4 days off before starting summer school today. We packed in as much fun as we could. We started out with our annual peach picking trip with some friends. We also picked cherries this year. They were great. Ansel was very helpful this year and was careful not to bruise the fruit. He loved climbing the trees. Amalia enjoyed eating a peach out of the bucket.

The next day we went to the Little Farm in Berkeley. Amalia, who loves animals was afraid of the big cow so I had to sneak a picture without her knowing the cow was behind her. Ansel contemplated the goat who returned the favor.

Amalia much prefers a box to any toy. She even brought her food with her.
Ansel and Jeremy have been taking advantage of the post-dinner light. Ansel got a spin on the ball a few times! Meanwhile, Amalia stole my pizza and sat on the porch quite delighted with herself.

I captured Amalia in some really nice afternoon light while she snacked on banana and strawberries today.
