Amalia Hope Leeds has arrived

Just born, our hairy cone head is measured and weighed.

On Monday, April 5th, ten days early, after 23 hours of labor 4 of which were spent pushing, via VBAC, we welcomed Amalia (Ah-Mahl-ya) Hope Leeds into this world. She was welcomed at Kaiser Oakland by Daddy Jeremy, Mommy Diana (of course), Paulette Schafir and Allison Abta as well as a great team of doctors and nurses. She weighed 6 lbs, 6.12 oz and was 20 inches long.
We had a few hold ups and just got home today (Thursday). High bilirubin levels kept Amalia in the hospital and mommy stayed to feed her. But, she made quick progress and we are very excited to be home together with Ansel and Daddy.

First meeting with daughter with Jeremy by my side.

Siblings meeting for the first time.

How thrilling! She looks beautiful, and Ansel looks super excited. You are a strong woman for making it through that labor! I'll check in with you next week. Love, Al
