Hard decision for me

I have been wrestling with a dilemma. I love Ansel so much. But I think I'd be a better mom if I had a little more time away from him to be myself. I miss swimming, running, yoga, crafting and going on dates with Jeremy. But I just don't feel comfortable leaving Ansel with someone I don't know yet.

I totally understand. I embrace my moments to do the things I love, like dancing or reading or just going out with friends. You know our husbands do this regularly - and they leave the baby with us - so one option is to leave the baby with them (which I do with Jamie regularly for my Sunday evening dance class). You don't have to leave Ansel with a stranger - we can babysit, too:) Or you might feel more comfortable with a friend's sitter (you can use our Susie, either simultaneously with Bernadette, or seperately - she is fine with that, and does it for Benji, too. Just let me know how we can help you with this. We are here for you:)

I was just gonna say that I have my night each week that Chris stays with the kids. He knows it makes me a better momma and better wife too when I get my kid free time. Especially with a job like yours, you really need it!
It is hard thought to get into a rhythm. I definitely think that you have to have it planned out though. It never happens otherwise. I keep meaning to set a date night for us, but since it isn't scheduled it hasn't happened. I am thinking once a month for now, but have friends who do once a week. Don't feel guilty about it though, Moms need to recharge. That said, I am still struggling with it myself. My friends are doing a babysitting swap where each week a different family watches the kids. The kids are older but with babies it could work with one other family. They would watch the kids one week and the next week you/jeremy would. just an idea...

When you are ready my friend, I will babysit for you. As long as there is no quota on silly songs I sing to Ansel.
